Things to Know

With your help, the Kennedy School can open its doors as widely as possible for the next generation of public leaders when they need it most—and when the world needs them most. Please consider honoring your time at HKS with a gift to the HKS Fund. One hundred percent of your contribution will be used to increase access and affordability for future HKS students. In appreciation for your support, we will recognize you along with your classmates in the Reunion honor roll and we will also send you an HKS lapel pin. Thank you for your consideration!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

After many years of virtual events, we are excited to be welcoming alumni back to campus for Reunion 2024. However, given travel restrictions and continuing public health concerns, we understand that all alumni may not be willing to attend in-person. Because of this, we are planning to host a hybrid Reunion with both virtual and in-person programming.

  • Understand that the University strongly encourages all guests to be fully vaccinated and boosted (if eligible) and if unvaccinated to complete a COVID-19 test prior to arriving on campus.
  • Do not come to campus if you/your guests are exhibiting symptoms, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or have otherwise been instructed to quarantine or isolate.
  • Masks are currently optional on campus. Some indoor events may require or strongly encourage masks. If you feel the need to continue to wear a mask for your own protection, or to protect someone close to you, you should do so.

All in-person attendees must also agree not to come to campus if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID, have been diagnosed recently (within 5 days) with COVID, or have otherwise been instructed to quarantine or isolate. Moreover, if Harvard University’s indoor mask mandate is in place at the time of Reunion, all in-person attendees must wear masks while indoors regardless of their vaccination status or test results.

For the most up-to-date information, visit Harvard Kennedy School’s COVID-19: Keep HKS Healthy website.

We will use a virtual platform called Whova, which will enable you to join Zoom discussions, chat with classmates and participate in Q&A during live sessions. Additional information will be provided upon your registration.

Registration will go live in late-January. If you have any questions, please contact reunion@hks.harvard.edu or call 617-496-8857.

Yes, walk-ins will be permitted at an increased cost.

Please view your class page for more specific details about social events or communications for your class and/or degree cohort.

Yes, you may bring a maximum of three guests.

We will secure local area hotel rooms at a discounted rate for the weekend (May 17-19). Click here to see the list of hotels.

Because we are dedicated to making Reunion financially feasible for all classmates, the registration form contains pricing options both for the complete Reunion program and for individual events. Although the School subsidizes the cost of Reunion, unfortunately not all expenses are covered; thus we do charge a nominal amount. In the interest of equity, we are unable to offer discounts to individual alumni at this time. Thank you for understanding.

  • Air Travel: This Reunion, HKS is asking that you consider buying carbon offsets to mitigate the negative climate and health impacts of air travel if you are flying into Cambridge. The School’s Sustainability Leadership Council has identified two platforms that provide a way to calculate your greenhouse gas emissions impact from air travel and purchase carbon offsets: Atmosfair and Wren; there are many other ways to offset the climate impacts of your air travel. Harvard University does not endorse any provider of carbon offsets or other vendor. Thank you for supporting sustainability at HKS!
  • Food-related: Harvard uses more than 250 local farmers to supply food for our campuses’ events and community members throughout the year and we select our menus based on seasonal availability to make sure we are able to provide more climate-friendly foods for our community members. The forks, knives, spoons, plates, and napkins at this year’s Reunion are 100% compostable--please use the green compostable bins to reduce our food-related waste streams.
  • Plastic/water-related: HKS has been working to reduce plastic waste on campus in our operations, limit the amount of plastic that arrives on campus, and collaborate with our vendors to change their purchasing practices to more climate and health-friendly products with less plastic. For the second year, HKS will not serve individual plastic bottles for attendees at Reunion. A recyclable metal water bottle was introduced in the HKS cafeteria in November 2021.
  • Landscaping: Harvard’s campuses are part of a larger, interconnected ecosystem, and the actions we take will have ripple effects through the natural environment. Harvard will protect and enhance the ecosystems and green spaces that our University owns, manages, and impacts, in order to enhance regional biodiversity and personal well-being. The majority of Harvard’s landscaped areas use an organic landscaping program free of pesticides.
